| Features:
Switch Mode Efficiency : These battery chargers are >85% efficient
in the transfer from AC to DC. Switch mode technology uses a switching regulator
thats switches power transistors on and off to stabilise output voltage or current.
They are used as a replacement to linear regulators to achieve higher efficiency.
Greater efficiency means less power consumption. It also enables the production
of much smaller and lighter products especially in the larger rated products.
Automatic 3-Stage Charging : There is no need to set the charger at
the rate or time required. These chargers will automatically do all that for
you after connecting it to the battery. It will determine at what stage and
rate your battery needs to be charged at . 3 Stage charging uses, boost, absorption
and float stages to treat the battery properly while charging and will charge
your battery much faster than more cheaper linear and 2 stage chargers.
Short Circuit Protection : If the leads are accidentally short circuited
by touching each other or another metal object, the charger will protect itself.
Simply switch the unit off momentarily and back on and the charger will resume
normal functioning.
Reverse Polarity Protection : If the leads are accidentally connected
in reverse, the charger will protect itself. Simply switch the unit off momentarily
and back on and the charger will resume normal functioning.
DC Output Battery Clips : There are 2 for each unit, 1 red (positive
+), the other is black (negative -). The plug-pack style products and desktop
4 Amp - 10 Amp models are connected to the chargers. The 15 Amp and 20 Amp models
have a lead which is simply attached to screw terminals.
On/Off Switch : Each charger has its own on/off switch. It is at the
rear of the unit and should be in the 'off' position when not in use.
