|
| Quattro 5KVA inverter
charger | |
Snaptec Australia, specialist in power
conversion is introducing a new 5KVA inverter charger or industrial
UPS.
The new Quattro 5KVA
inverter charger has
two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch. The Quattro can be connected to
two independent AC sources, for example shore-side power and a generator, or two
generators or AC mains and generator. The industrial UPS will automatically
connect to the active source.
The Quattro 5KVA inverter charger also has
two AC output, the main output has no-break functionality.
In the event of a grid
failure, or shore or generator power being disconnected, the Quattro takes over
the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20
milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to
operate without disruption.
The second output is live
only when AC is available on one of the inputs of the Quattro. Uncritical loads
that should not discharge the battery can be connected to this output.
The Quattro industrial UPS
can be connected in parallel for increased power, up to 6 units can operate in
parallel.
Six units of the
24/5000/120 model, for example, will provide 25kW / 30kVA output power and 720
amps charging capacity.
For even greater increased
power multiple Quattro industrial UPS units can be connected to produce a 3
phase AC output, with up to 6 units per phase, giving a total power capability
of 90KVA / 75KW.
The Quattro 5KVA inverter
charger provides computer monitoring and control facility, with full software
backup.
The main application for
this inverter charger is mainly when a high reliability AC back up system with a
long backup time is required.

provide 15 kW / 18 kVA output power. Operation in three phase configuration is
also possible.
Superior engineering: Developed for professional duty, the
Phoenix range of inverters is suitable for the widest range of applications. The
design criteria have been to produce a true sine wave inverter with optimised
efficiency but without compromise in performance. Employing hybrid HF
technology, the result is a top quality product with compact dimensions, light
in weight and capable of supplying power, problem-free, to any
load.
Computer interface: All models rated at 1200 VA or more have an

Smart DC UPS systems
from Snaptec Australia
10-Sep-2006 Snaptec is proud to introduce one of the
most extensive range of DC UPS systems to the Australian market.
A DC
Uniterruptable Power System is the natural product for critical DC applications.
Available for 12V , 24V , 36V , 48V and custom voltages upon
request.
Snaptec SR series of DC UPS systems is available with power
ratings from 100W to 750W , while the SNB series is available from 50W to 150W.
The BX series caters for power ratings from 250W to 1000W.
Represents a
truly unique and comprehensive solution to providing a secure, uninterrupted DC
power source with backup battery. A DC UPS system ensures you will always have
DC power when you need it most, and at the same time will protect and maximise
the investment made in your backup battery. A DC UPS system consists of a
No-Break DC power supply and battery charger, coupled with a backup battery. The
load is therefore carefully regulated and supplied via intelligent circuitry.
The system incorporates common sense features providing a vastly improved
solution over traditional methods of float charger + battery. The battery is
accurately charged, current limited, and the charger cannot be overloaded.
A proper DC UPS system should also have the added capability to
regularly monitor the condition of the standby battery and raise an alarm when
appropriate. This features provide many benefits including minimising the total
cost of ownership. The following are some of the features that good DC UPS
system should incorporate:
Monitoring of the battery status and
availability at all times. Independently limiting the charge current to the
battery, thus ensuring load receives priority (most units can have load : charge
ratio altered to suit battery size). Protecting against overload, short
circuit and reverse polarity connection. Deep discharge protection by
disconnecting at low battery voltage. Temperature compensation of battery
charge voltage - essential for battery health where ambient temperatures
fluctuate. Alarm contacts to enable interfacing with monitoring equipment
such as PLCs, SCADA, security, telemetry and myriad others - standard alarms are
DC OK, battery low.
One of the unique features of the SR series is the
cabability to perform an automatic battery test of the backup battery at
predetermined intervals and predetermined test period. This feature is critical
to provide long term integrity of battery backup systems to insure that the
battery will perform when most needed.
